Donald Trump has won the election, and Elon Musk is apparently the de-facto President. The circus has already begun with a looming government shutdown and truly insane cabinet nominations. They own the House, Senate and Supreme Court. I felt like the end of the world is nigh.. But our country has been in authoritarian control even before 9/11. The “system” is oppression on a grand scale. Always has been.
As cringe as it might seem, I am using the word “system” to describe the interlocking web of social, legal, cultural, and spiritual domination that quietly keeps us in line. It’s the unspoken rules that tell you to keep your head down at work, to accept that billionaires exist while people starve, and to believe that this is just how the world works. It’s the propaganda machine of media and entertainment that sells you hope while robbing you of it. It’s the courts, the cops, the corporations—all working together to remind you that stepping out of line comes with consequences. Our ruling class designed the “system” to make resistance feel impossible. But it’s not.
I have been away from this blog in order to study some history and some political theory. The purpose of this blog has changed and will focus on criticizing all politicians and the American Empire’s steady decline. Make no mistake, everything that Trump can do has already been happening here. Living in this country already amplifies every negative aspect of our system, but under new management, it will become so much worse. The political and ownership class treat our rights as privileges they ration out at their whim, tightening their grip whenever it serves their agenda. Keeping us complacent but without making enough money to actually get ahead.
Now is the time for action:
I am here to tell you that the world doesn’t have to be this way. Our country (currently the richest on earth) can become a place where all people have actual protections from harm. We can change everything. We just need patience and planning. We need to spread ‘class consciousness’. We can fix our broken systems with our solidarity. Follow along while I learn more and even read along with me!
I am reading “Let This Radicalize You“. Free on the link provided. (Note: I am not sure if the author has approved it, so please do go purchase the actual book as well if you can afford it.) I will strive to read books that I can source a free copy of and we will discuss lessons learned within the book.
As long as we have each other, there will be hope.
